Recently, I was contacted about information for Roy Ropp. Roy was an autumn marriage between my 2x great aunt, Mary Elizabeth Conkey, "Bess." When I originally went to my family tree, all I really knew was that he was an artist who had married Bess in Reno Nevada, in 1963. I found out that he had quite an influential relationship with the early days of the Laguna Beach arts festivals

While cleaning out some old boxes, we came across an old cassette. On the cassette, it said: Brooks Interview, written in my father's hand. My brother in-law, Lee Ray, transferred the cassette to a music file and cleaned it up a bit. Here is the interview.

I thought I'd try to put some of the family lore about my Grandma Marjorie here ... mostly so I won't forget it.
Marjorie Hawkins was born Feb. 23, 1910 in Bountiful Utah. She was born to a family descendent of Salt Lake City Mormon pioneers.
